The Very Low Calorie Diet (VLCD) utilizing meal replacements and a multidisciplinary team approach continues to be one of the gold standards. This presentation will review the current treatment paradigm and new research with the VLCD.

About the Speaker
Dr. Christopher Case is a board-certified endocrinologist in Jefferson City, Missouri, practicing at Jefferson City Medical Group. He received his medical degree from Saint Louis University School of Medicine; completed his residency at St. Louis University; and did his fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine and at MD Anderson Cancer Center. He is certified by the American Board of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism. As an endocrinologist, Dr. Case cares for patients with diabetes, obesity, osteoporosis, cholesterol disorders, diseases of the thyroid, and adrenal and pituitary glands. During his fellowship, he concentrated on obesity, weight loss, metabolic syndrome, and new developments in cardiovascular disease prevention.
